Learn About Margaret

get to know me

I make learning more human by connecting it to people, places, and ideas.

I am a learning experience designer, facilitator, and former school leader. Across schools and mission-driven organizations, I create learning that helps educators turn strong ideas into confident practice.

My approach

My work is rooted in constructivist learning, human-centered design, and a deep respect for educators’ expertise. I start with the people who will use the learning, test ideas early, and create practical tools that support change beyond a single workshop or course.

That approach has shaped curriculum, professional learning, and learning products for educators in the United States and internationally—online and in person. It also guides how I use AI: as a thoughtful partner for expanding access, strengthening design, and preserving room for human agency and creativity.

A throughline

From classrooms and makerspaces to learning systems at scale.

I began my career teaching and designing learning experiences in schools, later serving in curriculum and innovation leadership at The Agnes Irwin School. Today, I bring that practitioner perspective to learning design partnerships with organizations working to support educators. The thread through all of it is simple: meaningful learning needs both imagination and disciplined design.

Beyond the work

I am based in Philadelphia, a mother of elementary-aged twins and a young baby, and a partner to another educator. Family life keeps me close to the joyful, complicated realities of learning and growing together—and deepens my commitment to work that makes room for belonging, curiosity, and sustainable growth in the field of education.

Speaking and facilitation

I have presented and facilitated learning experiences for educators in the United States and internationally, including SXSW EDU and EduTech Africa.
